It was my pleasure to invite Chinese Professor Cai to visit University of North Texas on February 8-12, 2016. The student and faculty's response was very positive. Professor Cai is a well-known Chinese artist, also Chairman of Art Department in Quanzhou Normal University. During his 5 days visit, I scheduled him to visit and demo on Figure Drawing, Figure Painting, and Begging Watercolor classes; meet with Greg Watts, Dean of College of Visual Arts and Design in UNT; meet with Fernando Fleurquin, Director of IELI; meet with Amanda White, Director of Global Partnerships UNT; studio visits with Annette Lawrence, Chair of Studio Art UNT; studio visit with Laurin MacCracken, master in still life watercolor , studio visit with Christian Fagerlund, senior lecturer in studio art UNT; visit Rob Erdle's Painting in Denton City Hall; and curated Prof Cai's solo exhibit in UNT on the Square (Feb 8-22). |
